Location
From Molivos/Molyvos Walk out of Molivos (15 minutes) towards Eftalou and you will find the sign post after the womans cooperative sunbeds and the beach bar with great lunches.
From Anaxos or Petra Catch the local daily <<Anaxos to Eftalou>> public bus and show them the leaflet (flyer) or ask for the Donkey farm. The bus driver will know where you want to go and will tell you when to get off the bus. The farm- stop is after Molyvos. But if you need help because you will have a car/scooter just call us.
Description
This holiday, forget noisy cars and coaches for one day. Take it easy and enjoy the traditional transport of Greece. It's a beautiful, Ot's peaceful and it's fun!!
Over the last sixteen years, Michaelis, a highly experienced, English speaking guide and his partner Liz, have brought fun to hundreds of people with their famous Donkey treks.
Our well-fed and well treated donkeys all have names and obey Michaelis spoken commands. We have donkeys for all ages and sizes so our treks are suiable for non-riders. All we ask that you don'r wait more than 100 kilos.
Day-trek to Vafios
Every day except Friday
Leave at 10/10.00 am return 3.30/15.30 pm
After choosing donkeys at the farm to suit everyone according to age and weight, Michaelis (who guides every trek) safley takes you up into the hills at a relaxed tempo, no speed, no hurry. You will go through lush green valleys, past olive groves and along hidden paths to the mountain villageof Vafios to relex and buy lunch at one of the picturesque tavernea before riding back. An unforgettable day in the mountains. Some walking involved, so suitable shoes recommended.
Sunset-trek to Eftalou
Tuesday/Wednesday/Thurday/Saturday/Sunday
Leave 6.45/18.45 pm return 10.15/22.15 pm
Leaving the farm in the late aftenoon sunshine, this shorter, flatter trek follows the unspoilt coastline to Eftalou in time for a refreshing swim and some chilled white wine or soft drinks. Michaelis cooks a tasty barbeque on the beach, served with salad, cheese and fruits as the sun sets over the sea.
A relaxed, memorable and romantic evening before riding back to the farm
(Vegetarian bbq has to be booked in advance)
Notes
For the Day-Treks Catch the 9.30 am bus from Anaxos( leaves the centre of Petra on the main beah road about 4 minutes later). Afterwards when you want to get back home, you can catch the 3.50/15.50 pm or the 5.15/17.15 pm bus or explore Molivos village and cath a later bus.
For the Evening-Trek Catch the 6.05/18.05 pm bus from Anaxos (leaves Petra about 4 minutes later). From September 12th onwards, catch the 4.30/16..30 pm bus from Anaxos (leaves Petra about 4 minutes later) and shared taxi to return to your accommodation or have a break in Molivos village.
Don't worry if the bus is a bit late, we always wait for it
